Since the opening of its first Souplantation in 1978 in San Diego, California, Garden Fresh Restaurant Corporation has expanded to 61 salad buffet restaurants with locations in Southern California, where they are known as Souplantation, and in Northern California and ten other states, where they are known as Sweet Tomatoes. Differing in name only, the restaurants are known for their abundance of fresh, great tasting salad selections, soups, bakery items, pastas and desserts in a self-serve format, set in a casual dining atmosphere.

Sweetgreen New Item: 

  • WastED Salad: Developed in partnership with Blue Hill’s wastED project to highlight lesser utilized parts of vegetables, it’s a salad of broccoli leaf, romaine heart, carrot ribbon & arugula mix, roasted kale stems, broccoli stalks & cabbage cores, shaved Parmesan, spicy sunflower seeds, homemade croutons and pesto vinaigrette
Availability: At New York City locations through Sept. 28, 2015


Sweetgreen New Items:

  • Hollywood Bowl: Organic wild rice and shredded kale, jicama, local raisins, sprouted almonds, goat cheese, roasted chicken and balsamic vinaigrette
  • West Roast: Shredded kale and organic mesclun, shredded carrots, local roasted zucchini and radishes, basil, roasted chicken, Parmesan crisp and pesto vinaigrette
Availability: Permanent at new Los Angeles location

  • Mexican Corn Elote Bowl: Organic quinoa and farro, organic arugula, roasted corn and peppers, purslane, goat cheese, spicy sunflower seeds, cilantro, tomatoes, cabbage and lime cilantrojalapeño vinaigrette
  • O.M.G Omega: Organic arugula and baby spinach, cucumber, tomatoes, basil, avocado, roasted salmon, nori furakake and miso sesame ginger dressing
  • Strawberries and Humboldt Fog: Organic baby spinach and arugula, strawberries, Humboldt Fog goat cheese, snap peas, basil, raw walnuts and balsamic vinaigrette

  • Roasted Salmon + Radish (pictured): Organic arugula and shredded kale, local radishes, beets, carrots, roasted salmon and mustard oregano vinaigrette
  • Umami Grain Bowl: Organic wild rice, quinoa, farro, Swiss chard, roasted mushrooms, red onion, roasted tofu, pea shoots, spicy sunflower seeds and miso sesame ginger dressing
  • Local Blue Cheese + Bacon: Organic mesclun and shredded kale, roasted sweet potatoes, caramelized onions, honey-glazed pecans, local blue cheese, bacon and balsamic vinaigrette
